Prentiss MillerHi Folks,
My name is Prentiss Miller and I am a singer/songwriter and worship leader from Iowa, Louisiana. At a young age I accepted Christ the best way I knew how, but as I grew older I drifted into the world. I found out that I could earn as living playing bars at night, and in the winter guiding duck hunters during the day. I spent many years doing just that, but in 1981 God began to get my attention.

I was in a car accident that almost took my life. I had severe head injuries doctors thought would end my career, but God had other plans. I was dating a gal named Addie at the time who later became my wife. She took care of me as I began to recover, and you can see pictures of us by visiting the pictures page on this website. We decided to move to Nashville in 1985 chasing a musical dream. There, a fellow songwriter invited me to a Bible study where I began to study The Word.

One night a passage of scripture hit me hard where Jesus said “you shall know them by their fruit.” I came to the realization that I had no fruit in my life. I realized I had not surrendered my whole life to Christ - especially my music. At my home in Nashville I surrendered my whole life to Jesus, including my music.

Performing at ASCAP Showcase.I began to write Christ centered songs. One of my first Gospel songs was called “Ol Gideon Bible.” The song was published and recorded by several artists, and caught the attention of Paul Overstreet who signed me to a staff writing deal with artist potential. I learned a lot about the craft of songwriting while at the company. I wrote songs with the other staffers, and also Paul on occasion. I played a couple of writer’s nights with Garth Brooks, and also a ASCAP showcase with him at The Bluebird Café. I also got a chance to write with Terri Clark before she got her record deal.

God has blessed me in so many ways - the latest of which is my new CD called “The Dash.” It has thirteen original songs, and the title track is about the Virginia Tech Tragedy. My hope is these songs will speak to your heart, Jesus will become real to you and that you will have a relationship with him.

The CD can be purchased at CD Baby.com. I can be reached at prentiss@centurylink.net for booking information.
